City are set to lock horns with Juventus on Thursday in our final FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group clash with all still to play for in terms of who and where we will play in the last 16.

City and our famous Italian opposition both go into the final Group G game at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium already assured of a place in the knockout stages.

But in terms of potential opponents and venues for Pep Guardiola’s side, there are myriad possibilities.

Going into the game, Juventus and City each have six points from the first two group encounters, with the Italians in top spot by virtue of having scored one goal more.

For City, the mathematics are deliciously simple.

If we win on Thursday evening, City will top the group. A draw or loss would see us progress as runners-up.

Coming top would see City remain in Orlando for our last 16 match with that tie scheduled to take place at 02.00 UK in the early hours of Tuesday, July 1.

If we are runners up meanwhile, our last 16 tie would take place at 20.00 UK on Tuesday, July 1 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Lying in wait for Pep Guardiola’s side will be either the winners or runners-up of Group H.

The final games in that group kick-off in the early hours of Friday, June 27 at 02.00 (UK) with leaders Real Madrid, second place RB Salzburg – both who have four points - and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, on two points, all still in contention to qualify.

In the final Group H matches, Real Madrid will take on RB Salzburg with Al Hilal facing Pachuca of Mexico, who have no points and can’t go through.

Here, however, there are numerous permutations in terms of how the top two could finally shape up.

If Real Madrid avoid defeat, they will qualify for the knockout stages. If the Spanish giants lose, they will still go through should Al Hilal not win but would be eliminated if the Saudi Arabian club overcome Pachuca.

In terms of Salzburg, the Austrian side will qualify if they beat Real Madrid. If they draw, they will go through too providing Al Hilal do not win.

If Al Hilal do claim all three points, and Salzburg draw, the Austrians will go through if they draw by a score of 2-2 or higher.

If it is 0-0 between Real and Salzburg, and Al Hilal win, they will be eliminated but if it is 1-1, whoever out of Salzburg and Al Hilal has the better overall goal difference in all group matches will progress together with Real Madrid.

As for Al Hilal, they must beat Pachuca to have any chance of going through. If the Saudi Arabian side win and the game between Salzburg and Madrid isn’t a draw, they will advance.

If Al Hilal win by a single goal, and Salzburg draw, the Austrians will go through provided they have scored more goals than the Saudi Arabian side, given they will share identical head to head records and goal differences. If Salzburg draw and Al Hilal win by a margin greater than one goal or have ended the group stage with more goals scored though, then the Saudi Arabian side will qualify.

It means there are a host of potential possibilities in terms of City’s last 16 opposition – but thankfully all will be revealed by the early hours of Friday morning!
