De Telegraaf are reporting that FC Utrecht are hoping to keep on loan Rangers striker Sam Lammers next season. The forward was loaned to the Eredivisie side in January from the Scottish club and says he has not had any contact with his parent club for the last six months. Utrecht are facing Sparta Rotterdam in their first match in the play-offs for the final European ticket in Dutch football.

The 27-year-old striker has been in great form for Utrecht since joining on loan. In 18 games in the Eredivisie he has scored 10 goals and provided three assists. The forward only joined Rangers in the summer of 2023 from Atalanta for around €4m but struggled to make an impact at Ibrox. In 31 games for the club he scored twice and provided two assists. His time at Utrecht has been his escond most successful spell during his career since playing for Heerenveen on loan from PSV during the 2018/2019 season. During that campaign the forward scored 19 goals in 35 matches and joined Atalanta the following season.
