FC Twente are in the race for a total of five players, De Telegraaf reports. According to the newspaper, Robin Pröpper, Tjaronn Chery, Thomas van den Belt, Gjivaï Zechiël, and Joshua Kitolano are all high on the Enschede wish list.
Pröpper is believed to be the most likely new reinforcement for Twente, who would like to bring the central defender back from Rangers after just one season.
Joseph Oosting also wants to sign Chery. That said, his arrival is by no means a foregone conclusion, as his old club NEC Nijmegen and his current club Royal Antwerp are also eyeing a new deal for the 37-year-old playmaker.
Twente also have considerable competition for Van den Belt. Feyenoord’s attacking midfielder was loaned out to CD Castellon last season, is also of interest to NEC. In addition, Spanish clubs of the highest and second-highest level are reportedly in the market for the former PEC Zwolle player.
With Zechiël, FC Utrecht are Twente’s biggest competitor. The talented Feyenoord midfield prospect, who played for Sparta Rotterdam on loan for the past six months, is also attracting interest from ‘two foreign leagues’. It is not known whether Twente also has competition in the battle for the signature of Sparta midfielder Kitolano.
