The rift between FC Barcelona and their German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is now clear for all to see. As the squad resumes training, the player is working out separately from the rest of the team.
As we previously reported! Marc-André ter Stegen is being pushed towards an exit from FC Barcelona, where Joan Garcia has taken over as the number one ahead of backup Wojciech Szczesny. The German shot-stopper is no longer part of Hans-Dieter Flick’s plans for the upcoming season.
Now forced to find a new club, Ter Stegen does not appear particularly keen on leaving. The keeper, who joined from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2014, is training apart from the group, according to Catalan outlet Sport. On Tuesday, the first session was held at 9:30 a.m., with Marc-André ter Stegen working out alone in the gym. Thirty-six players underwent medical tests yesterday, with the German goalkeeper being the only exception.
