Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed a quite surprising bit of information regarding Chelsea and former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel is now the manager of England of course and is far away from any domestic or transfer involvements, and I am sure he now finds that very stress-free, at least that part of the job. The rest of the job of course will be full of stress as any former England manager will tell you. But in terms of no longer being involved with silly season, I am sure that the former Blues boss will be very pleased that he doesn’t have to do any of that stuff for now.
Some managers might thrive on it though and to be honest, it seems like Tuchel was a manager who liked to have his say and liked to put names forward, like he did at Chelsea.
And you wonder how much of a say he had when he was managing at Bayern Munich and whether he asked for any names there. Because Romano says they wanted to sign a Chelsea player in the 2024 January transfer window that was almost a year ago now.
Mudryk could have gone to Germany
There is a lot going on with Mykhailo Mudryk right now and he is in a very tough situation in terms of his future and what it holds. Everyone will now know what is going on their as a spot test showed up a banned substance in his system and he now faces a fight to try and clear his name. Enzo Maresca and Chelsea are fully backing and supporting the player.
Romano says on his latest YouTube show:
“In January 2024, a big European club wanted to sign [Mykhailo Mudryk] Mudryk on loan with an option to buy. That club is Bayern Munich when Thomas Tuchel was the manager.”
