Fabrizio Romano has confirmed our story from earlier today. Liverpool didn't take long to decide on the €50m proposal.

Anfield Watch reported on Tuesday that Liverpool had rejected an offer from Napoli for Darwin Nunez. The Serie A champions hope to sign the striker this summer and have him at the top of their shortlist.

The offer was for around €50m with another €5m there in add-ons. Nunez would earn around €5m per year with Napoli, too.

But Liverpool said no. This offer became public knowledge on Monday evening but was actually submitted early last week and was quickly rejected.

Liverpool are willing to sell Nunez this summer but won't do so at any price. They plainly believe that there's more to be gained in a fee for their no.9 and will hold out for that.

It comes after the Reds rejected an offer for Nunez from Al-Hilal back in January. That offer was for around £70m but Liverpool didn't want to sell mid-season, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch.
