Como head coach Cesc Fabregas is reportedly wanted in the Bundesliga to take over as RB Leipzig head coach, but the former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder is also a long-term target for Milan according to Saturday’s reports.

Reports Fabregas wanted for vacant RB Leipzig job

According to updates from Calciomercato.com, Fabregas is among the candidates to take over RB Leipzig following the recent sacking of head coach Marco Rose. Zsolt Lőw is currently serving as interim head coach at the Red Bull Arena.

Leipzig reportedly appreciate Fabregas, because of his growing track record of identifying and developing exciting young players – Nico Paz and Assane Diao the standout examples at Como. That has always been a part of Leipzig’s philosophy as well.

The 37-year-old is, however, under contract until the summer of 2028, which means that Leipzig would likely have to pay a decent sum in compensation if they were to free him from his current contract on the lake.

The Spaniard is also a target for Milan, according to Saturday’s report. However, he is unlikely to take over from Sergio Conceicao in San Siro, as the Rossoneri would reportedly prefer to focus on a more experienced Serie A coach for the 2025-26 season.

Instead, Fabregas is someone who Milan could turn to further down the line.
