Expensive wedding as Ianis Hagi seeks Rangers departure | OneFootball

The comments today from Ianis Hagi’s agent Ioan Becali are among the strangest we’ve seen, and that’s a pretty illustrious stable given some of the mince his old man has come out with.

For those late to the Rangers party on this one, Hagi’s representative has now announced his attendance at the playmaker’s wedding, and has suggested he will chip in with his brother Victor to spend money on trying to find something for the attacker, praising his old man Gheorghe as being ‘good to him’.

The bonkers stuff is thus:

This really is one quite eccentric comment – from ‘I’ll spend some of my own money to find him a new club’ to ‘I hope Rangers will pick him’.

We get it, Romania is a slightly different culture to ours, and quite possibly on top of some eccentricities there may be a speck of ‘lost in translation’, but either way Hagi’s agent seems to be as mad as the rest of them.

Mind you, at least he’s not accidentally texted a Lecce manager fan account offering his client to the wrong person… right Jose?

Either way, we see very little chance of Hagi being recalled fully to Rangers – he will join the squad for preseason when he’s ready, but there are big moves to try to find him a new club for the new campaign.

And apparently old Becali will dip into his own pocket, and that of his brother, to fund this happening.
