The Foxes are in need of a replacement for Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Leicester City are on the hunt for a new manager as they prepare to return to the Championship this season.
Ruud van Nistelrooy finally left Leicester by mutual consent last week following their relegation from the Premier League, as an earlier sacking would have affected the club's latest PSR accounts.
The Foxes have been linked with former Burnley and Everton boss Sean Dyche as well as current Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl, and it is important that they move swiftly to make an appointment to avoid their pre-season preparations being heavily impacted by van Nistelrooy's delayed departure.
It could reportedly cost around £1m to get Rohl from Sheffield Wednesday, even after the compensation package for another club to employ the German was halved following negotiations with the Owls.
The 36-year-old has impressed under difficult circumstances at Hillsborough, and it could be seen as a shrewd appointment for Leicester if they are able to bring him to the King Power Stadium this summer.
Sky Sports pundit, Lee Hendrie, has spoken exclusively to Football League World about Leicester's reported interest in Danny Rohl, and he believes the German has the ability to take the Foxes back into the top flight at the first time of asking.
"Yeah, Danny Rohl, I think Leicester should go for him. I really do," Hendrie said.
"I think he is a very good manager. He has proved that he can do it at this level, even with a side on a very minimal budget.
"I think Leicester will be strong this season. They have got a good squad of players, and I am sure they will add to that as well.
"Danny Rohl, for me, is a very, very good manager, and I think he can steer them back to the Premier League."
Rohl has endured a difficult few months working under the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri at Sheffield Wednesday, and it seems as though he is ready to leave Hillsborough as a result.
The Star have reported that, as a result of wages not being paid, some players have the option to hand Wednesday a 15-day notice period to settle any outstanding payments before they can terminate their contracts and leave the club.
The Owls have already been banned from spending money on transfers until January 2027 following their repeated failure to pay players' wages, so it is increasingly understandable why Rohl's patience appears to be wearing thin.
According to a report in the Mail Online, Rohl has informed senior players at Sheffield Wednesday that he will leave the club after nearly two years in charge this summer.
The 36-year-old was linked with the vacant role at Middlesbrough prior to the recent appointment of Rob Edwards, and he is now in the frame for the Leicester job.
It is an extremely unfortunate situation for everyone associated with Sheffield Wednesday, but it could mean that Leicester are able to appoint one of the most exciting young head coaches in the EFL as they prepare to try and win promotion back to the Premier League this season.
