Luton Town, Barnsley, Leyton Orient & Blackpool are all plotting moves for ex-Huddersfield Town forward Josh Koroma, FLW understands.
Ex-Huddersfield Town forward Josh Koroma is a free agent target for Luton Town, Barnsley, Leyton Orient and Blackpool, Football League World has exclusively been informed.
The Hatters, Tykes, Orient and the Tangerines have all been busy bolstering their squads this summer, with each club having made numerous additions.
It's also been an extremely busy summer for the Terriers, with no less than eight new signings through the door ahead of Lee Grant's first season both as a manager, and in charge of Huddersfield.
Each one of these five League One sides will all have promotion aspirations in 2025/26, dreams that could move closer to reality should one of them land the signature of a player whom Huddersfield have recently released.
Football League World has exclusively been informed that Luton Town, Barnsley, Leyton Orient and Blackpool are all targeting a move for ex-Huddersfield Town forward, Josh Koroma.
The 26-year-old was confirmed to be one of 10 players with first-team appearances for Town to their name to be released following the expiration of their respective contracts this summer.
Having moved to the John Smith's Stadium from Leyton Orient - then a National League side - in the summer of 2019, Koroma has spent the last six seasons contracted to the club, despite having loan stints with Rotherham United and Portsmouth respectively during that time.
The versatile forward - who can operate both as a centre-forward or from out wide - ends his Terriers career having made just shy of 170 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals and providing 10 assists.
Koroma is also a Sierra Leone international, for whom he's made three appearances for so far.
There is surely a lot to like for any of Luton Town, Barnsley, Leyton Orient and Blackpool when it comes to the possibility of signing Koroma.
Still only 26, he's firmly in the prime years of his career, and is entering the 25/26 season fresh off the back of his best individual goalscoring campaign in all competitions of his senior career, having bagged 12 in 40 for Huddersfield last term.
He's also proven that he can stay fit and available over the duration of a grueling EFL campaign, as he's made 41 and 40 appearances in all competitions for the Terriers over the last two seasons.
So, whilst Blackpool have signed Niall Ennis, Luton having bagged Nahki Wells, Barnsley getting David McGoldrick and Reyes Cleary, and Orient securing Aaron Connolly, the opportunity to acquire the services of a versatile forward who's just hit double-digit goals in League One last season is surely something they should all still seriously look into.
With all of these sides undoubtedly harbouring promotion dreams, adding a proven third tier player in the prime of his career to your forward line can only serve to bolster each of their respective chances.
