Daniele Adani feels that Inter Milan “have signed good players” this summer, but says that he “doesn’t understand the strategy.”
Speaking on Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908, Adani gave his thoughts on his former club’s transfer business.
Inter Milan have now made five signings this summer transfer window.
The arrival of Manuel Akanji on loan from Manchester City with a purchase option has capped off the summer transfer window.
Prior to Akanji, Inter had also signed Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Andy Diouf. Furthermore, and just as significantly, Francesco Pio Esposito has joined the first team squad.
Notably, Akanji is by far and away the oldest player Inter have signed this summer.
The Swiss international turned 31 this year, but by far the other players Inter have brought in (including Pio Esposito) are all between the ages of 20 and 23.
This has made it clear that Inter are serious about dragging down the average age of their squad.

Former Inter defender Daniele Adani gave his thoughts on his old club’s approach this summer.
He argued that “Inter’s transfer window has been hard for the fans to understand.”
“One minute, they’re going after one player. And then, a different one comes in.”
“They’re after a defender who ends up going to Liverpool,” he said, referring to Giovanni Leoni. “And then no one comes in.”
“They’re after Lookman. But then they sign a midfielder.”
Adani suggested that Inter “need something more, but then no one comes in, and they’re fine, then they want to sign a striker, and end up signing a midfielder.”
However, it’s not all bad for Adani. He argues that “Inter have made some good moves.”
“I like the players they’ve signed,” the former defender said. “Including Diouf, he looks like a good player.”
“But I have to reiterate: I don’t understand their transfer window. They haven’t explained it.”
“And I’d like to know one other things,” Adani added. “And that’s how in tune Chivu has been with the club on the signings they’ve made.”
