Former Barcelona star Franck Kessié has turned heads this week, by way of comments regarding a one-time teammate in Catalunya’s capital.

The player in question? Ousmane Dembélé.

Midfielder Kessié and winger Dembélé spent a solitary year lining out alongside one another in Barcelona’s colours, in 2022/23.

This proved more then enough time for the former, though, to be convinced of his teammate’s qualities.

Speaking during an interview with the Saudi Pro League’s official social media channels on Tuesday, Kessié, now of Al-Ahli, was drawn on a whole host of topics regarding the standout players from across his career.

One such question centered on the most intelligent performer whom he has shared the pitch with.

And the Ivorian went on to name the aforementioned Ousmane Dembélé as his choice.

Kessié also highlighted Dembélé as his teammate with the best left foot, before choosing Frenkie de Jong as the finest passer he has played with.
