Mohamed Salah is having some season at Liverpool. The Egyptian international is shattering records in his bid to fire the Reds to the title and reached another milestone this week.

Salah scored one and created another during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at Aston Villa, incredibly the 10th time he has scored and assisted in the same game this season. He’s the first player across Europe’s top five leagues to achieve that feat in a decade, with the previous player a certain Lionel Messi.

Salah leads the league for goals and assists and has become just the fifth player in Premier League history to reach 15+ on each metric in the same campaign. He’s still got a dozen games to go…

Every player to record 15+ goals and 15+ assists in a Premier League season

Eric Cantona – Leeds/Manchester United (1992/93)

Eric Cantona began the inaugural Premier League season at Leeds United, who he had helped to the top-flight title the previous campaign. In 1992, a chance phone call that saw Leeds enquire about Denis Irwin ended up being a sliding doors moment in Premier League history.

Manchester United, in search of a striker after Dion Dublin’s leg break, cheekily responded with an enquiry for Cantona and, to their amazement, Leeds were prepared to do business. A cheque for £1.2m was finalised and the rest is history.

Cantona was the driving force in Manchester United’s title success that season, leading the Red Devils from eighth at the time of his arrival to Premier League winners. He ended the campaign with 15 goals and 16 assists as Sir Alex Ferguson’s side ended a 26-year title drought. It was the first of many Premier League crowns to head to Old Trafford, with Cantona the catalyst.

Matt Le Tissier – Southampton (1994/95)

Matt Le Tissier’s maverick match-winning talent saw him dubbed “Le God” at Southampton during the nineties. Le Tissier’s loyalty to the cause and ability to turn games saw him save Southampton from the drop on several occasions.

The 1994/95 campaign was one of his very best, as Le Tisser scored 29 goals in all competitions for the Saints. He netted 19 of those goals in the Premier League and chipped in with 15 assists. Le Tissier was named in the PFA Team of the Year and earned the Goal of the Season accolade for an audacious effort against Blackburn.

There’s good reason he’s regarded as the greatest talent in the club’s history.

Thierry Henry – Arsenal (2002/03)

Arguably the greatest individual season in Premier League history.

Thierry Henry became the first – and so far only – player to reach 20+ goals and 20+ assists in a Premier League campaign during the 2002/03 season.

The Frenchman’s formidable form saw him recognised with the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award despite Arsenal missing out on the title. His 20 assists remains a single-season record, matched only by Kevin De Bruyne in 2019/20. This century, only Barcelona’s Lionel Messi (2019/20) has also reached 20+ on each metric in a top-five European league.

Eden Hazard – Chelsea (2018/19)

Eden Hazard was untouchable at his best in a Chelsea shirt and his final season with the Blues saw him score 16 goals and create 15 more.

The Belgium international was mesmeric under the management of Maurizio Sarri, as he inspired Chelsea to Champions League qualification and a Europa League triumph over London rivals Arsenal.

He moved to Real Madrid that summer for an initial fee of €100m but never again recaptured those heights during a tough spell in Spain.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool (2024/25)

Mohamed Salah is rapidly hunting down the record for the most goal involvements in a Premier League season.

Salah has been sensational for Liverpool this season and leads the league for goals and assists. He’s averaged a goal involvement every 59 minutes to fire Arne Slot’s side to the top of the table.

The Egyptian is now the sixth-highest scorer of all time in the Premier League and 10th overall for assists, with Salah cementing his case to be included on the league’s Mount Rushmore. If he can get Liverpool over the line for the title, his legacy will have another golden chapter.
