Premier League outfit Everton are expressing an interest in the signature of an up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at Villarreal.
That’s according to El Chiringuito TV, who point towards Etta Eyong as the player in question.
Everton and Villarreal, of course, have already done business on one occasion this summer.
As much culminated in Thierno Barry taking his talents to Goodison Park in a big-money transfer last month.
Everton’s shopping spree at La Cerámica, however, may not be finished there…
As per a report from the aforementioned El Chiringuito TV:
‘Everton contacts Villarreal regarding Etta Eyong. The player wants to stay, but if he is told he won’t play, he wouldn’t be opposed to moving to the Premier League.’
Eyong, for his part, is a 21-year-old attacker, who chiefly operates in a centre-forward role.
The youngster broke into the first-team picture at Villarreal late last season, notching a quartet of appearances, and even netting the winning goal in a 1-0 downing of Girona.
It now remains to be seen if Marcelino and co. are willing to provide Eyong with the kind of playing time guarantees which he is evidently seeking.
