Everton announce trio of departures | OneFootball

Everton have announced the departure of three players at the end of the season.

Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic, and João Virginia will all leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Young joined the club from Aston Villa in 2023 and made 68 appearances for the Toffees, scoring twice.

Meanwhile, João Virgina featured eight times in total for the club, including twice this season, while Begovic didn't play at any point this campaign after his return to the club.

"This is a complicated situation in many respects, with so many players out of contract this summer. It’s important to me to speak with all of those players, individually, to give them clarity on their situations," said manager David Moyes.

"Lots of factors influence our decision-making and we’re currently working through that process with the players, which takes time. Some will have clarity by the end of this week, and for others it may get to next week, but it’s important it’s handled in the right way."
