Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Manchester United is set to conclude at the end of the current season.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio told soccernews.nl that this decision had been made some time ago.

Di Marzio highlighted that United are already exploring options for Ten Hag’s successor.

Among the names being considered are Kieran McKenna, currently at Ipswich Town, and Mauricio Pochettino, who recently parted ways with Chelsea.

“Manchester United will be looking for a new coach,” Di Marzio said, adding that Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton & Hove Albion is also on their radar, though no recent contact has been made with him.

The Italian journalist noted that McKenna has already had discussions with United, indicating the club’s serious interest.

However, McKenna is also a candidate for the Brighton job and has been linked with Chelsea, making the situation highly competitive.

If McKenna opts for Chelsea, United’s focus could shift to Pochettino, a proven manager with Premier League experience.

Many top clubs are on the look out for new leadership, making the manager market all the more competitive.

INEOS must be shrewd with their next appointment. It should align with the ethos of the club and the vision of what they expect in the next five years.

The entire transfer strategy will depend upon the profile of the manager the club decides to pursue.
