Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich are close to completing the signing of Tottenham’s Eric Dier permanently.
The defender will have his medical today ahead of completing his move. The price for Dier will be around €4m and he will sign a contract at the club until 2025 with an option of an additional year. The former England international will provide much-needed depth for Bayern not only in midfield but also in central defence where they have been forced to play Leon Goretzka at times.
Bayern had attempted to sign Genoa defender Radu Drăgușin by hijacking Tottenham’s attempt to sign the Romanian but Drăgușin decided to join the Premier League side instead.
Dier will be Bayern’s first official signing of the winter and they are likely to enter the market again for another defender with the club linked to former RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele who is also a versatile player capable of playing as a central defender as well as a right-back.
