England will face a short turnaround from their goalless draw against the USA on Saturday, as Sarina Wiegman's side now prepare to host Switzerland at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane.

Returning off the back of a 0-0 draw with Emma Hayes's USA outfit, the Lionesses will now regroup as they turn their attention toward a friendly fixture with the hosts of Euro 2025.

The Lionesses have been without forward starlets Lauren James and Lauren Hemp for the international window, with both players sidelined through injury. Ella Toone is also absent from the England squad to face Switzerland, with a calf injury sustained in training with Manchester United.

Adding that list is now Chloe Kelly and Fran Kirby, who suffered concussion and a calf injury respectively, during England's game against the USWNT on Saturday. Questions still remain over Maya Le Tissier's availability after missing out on the weekend's game due to concussion.

Although these injuries are big blows for the Lionesses, this leaves the door open for Sarina Wiegman to give the young stars a chance against Switzerland at Bramall Lane. Grace Clinton has been a standout performer in the Women's Super League (WSL) for Manchester United, and could get a starting spot for the Lionesses on Tuesday.

Ruby Mace is the first Leicester City player to receive an England call-up since the club turned professional, and young Man City star Laura Blindkilde Brown also features in the squad. Aggie Beever-Jones and Maya Le Tissier will both be eager to collect senior England minutes against the Swiss.

England vs Switzerland score prediction

Recent performances from Switzerland have proved that they are no rollover, having beaten France 2-1 in the October international break. Pia Sundhage will be eager for her Swiss side to make a high account for themselves against the reinging European Champions ahead of their host tournament next summer.

England will be eager to get the job done no matter the squad Sarina Wiegman chooses to put out, and will hopefully correct some of the defensive errors we saw in the October games against Germany and South Africa.

The Lionesses will bring their best to Bramall Lane, and will be the favourites heading into the friendly encounter.
