In order to complete the operations for their desired new arrivals, FC Barcelona will have to ensure the departures of several players in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Catalans are already working on this latter aspect, and are in talks for the departures of several of their players.

The one player who has been looking the closest to an exit from the Blaugrana club in these last few weeks is the forward Ansu Fati, who has been linked very closely with the Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, and some reports have suggested that this move is already in its final stages.

However, SPORT reports that this operation is still dragging on, and some doubts are starting to emerge in the principality club. In fact, their head coach, Adi Hutter, has already asked his club to complete the operations for new arrivals as soon as possible.

The coach has authorized two new signings for his team for the next season, when they will again be playing in the UEFA Champions League, i.e., Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati. Although he had approved these signings even before the end of the last season, the Monaco trainer is still not convinced these players will join his ranks.

The Austrian coach wants these two new players under his command by 28th June, when he will start the preseason training. If that is not the case, the Ligue 1 club would not mind looking for other targets.

Agreement pending with Barcelona

Pogba has already given his approval for a move, but regarding Fati, Monaco still have to reach an agreement with Barcelona, and there are several points of disagreement between the two sides.

The potential move has taken on different shapes in the last few weeks, starting with a loan move, then becoming a permanent sale with a repurchase option, and now, the Monegasques would again be preferring a loan with a purchase option.

The high salary of Ansu Fati is also complicating negotiations between the two sides, as Barcelona want Monaco to take on a good part of his salary, while the Ligue 1 club is not willing to reach even 50% of his wages.

As things stand, the Blaugranes need departures to ensure more signings, but it remains to be seen how this move will pan out in the coming days.
