Liverpool's recruitment department is expected to be as busy as ever over the next two weeks.

Plenty of transfer moves have already been conducted, but you'd expect some last minute decisions to still be made before the window closes, and the choices made will have huge repercussions.

In the first team, incoming moves for Marc Guehi and Alexander Isak are being considered right now, although each of their circumstances are far from straightforward, so nothing is guaranteed yet.

Meanwhile, the academy will sanction a number of moves as well to help fast-track players' development, whether they be permanent departures or loan moves before they return next year.

U21s on the move

According to Lewis Bower, a journalist that follows all the ins and outs of the Liverpool academy, two players were left out of the Under-21s matchday squad for Monday night, suggesting transfer moves.

He said: "No Lewis Koumas or Kaide Gordon this evening, which is likely suggestive towards impending moves."

Both players are considered on the periphery of joining the first team, getting regular call-ups during pre-season campaign and will likely feature in both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup this season.

Since the Reds have already made it public that Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni will be given roles in Arne Slot's side this season, the presumption is that they will need to get the necessary minutes for their development elsewhere, playing with higher-quality players than their academy teammates.

Liverpool have a number of players on loan right now, featuring in Scotland and the English Football League - primarily the Championship, with Derby currently hosting a number of ex-Liverpool wonderkids - but clubs such as Brentford in the Premier League also have plenty of ex-Red alumni.

You would presume that any potential departures for Koumas or Gordon would be straight loan moves, since they are highly-talented attackers that might fancy their chances of breaking into the first team next season, but permanent moves might also be considered if the price is right.

Regardless, it's worth keeping an eye on the reports over the next few weeks for them, alongside potential incoming moves for Guehi and Isak. There's a lot of transfer business still to get finalised.
