Manchester United suffered their 12th defeat of the Premier League campaign after a 1-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Red Devils had plenty of chances to score, but they lacked a cutting edge compared to Spurs.
James Maddison bagged an early goal, which sealed victory for the hosts. Garnacho had a glorious opportunity to equalise but blasted his shot well over the bar.
There were some positives despite the defeat. Patrick Dorgu’s showing from the left wing-back position was particularly impressive.
The winter signing started on the right during his debut against Leicester City, but manager Ruben Amorim played him on the opposite flank against Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Dorgu did not make a goal contribution, but he was very good defensively. He won nine out of his 10 duels contested and won all four of his tackles.
The £29 million signing has had a promising start to his United career. He did not look overawed by the challenge in front of him against Spurs.
The onus is now maintaining the same consistency in order to cement a regular starting position under Amorim for the forthcoming matches.
Meanwhile, things have gone from bad to worse for United. The club are 15th in the standings after the loss in London yesterday.
They take on an in-form Everton outfit at Goodison Park next, and it could be another difficult trip unless they capitalise and convert their scoring chances.
