An insight into the details of the expletive-filled rant directed at the referee by Barcelona head coach Xavi during Tuesday’s meeting with Paris Saint-Germain has today been forthcoming.

Xavi, for his part, of course endured an outing to forget late last night.

After guiding his Barcelona outfit into the 2nd leg of their Champions League quarter-final showdown with PSG in possession of a slender advantage, the Blaugrana were ultimately sent packing, owing to a 4-1 drubbing in Catalunya’s capital.

Not only that, but, on a personal level, the club’s headmaster was shown a red card, too.

Initially, the understanding was that as much came owing to Xavi lashing out, kicking an advertising board owing to his frustration with the standard of officiating.

Footage to have come to the fore on Wednesday, though, showcases the fact that a foul-mouthed tirade also likely contributed significantly to his dismissal.

As revealed by the Movistar cameras in attendance at Montjuïc, Barcelona’s boss was heard shouting the following in the direction of referee Istvan Kovacs:

“Don’t f**k with me! Your f**king mother, b**tard!”

Not only that, but Xavi goaded the official into showing him a red card, in repeating “go ahead, send me off!”.
