DOMPIG AT THE END, JOY FOR THE ROSSONERE: NAPOLI DEFEATED | OneFootball

There's no two without three. In the recent Serie A Women's seasons, often the matches between AC Milan and Napoli have been decided by a late stoppage time goal. In Cercola, Chanté Dompig's goal in the 92nd minute awarded the Rossonere their second win in a row, a result which secures fifth place and helps our rise up to the top spots in the league. The Dutch forward "inherited" the role of match winner which last year was assumed twice by Laurent (and once by Dubcová) and with a sought after, fought for and strongly desired goal, rewarded a good display from Coach Bakker's side. On the one hand, history repeats itself given the most recent past against Napoli; on the other hand the growth of a team that has learnt what it means to suffer - the home side went close by hitting the post early in the second half, but on this occasion they also confirmed the progress already seen against Inter and Lazio. A lot of solidity in possession, patience in the build up and the desire to find gaps out wide. MATCH REPORT Lots of anticipation went round in Cercola, with both sides having decent spells of possession without creating many big opportunities. In the fourth minute, Giordano had an attempt saved by Giuliani. The first chance for AC Milan arrived in the 21st minute, as Cernoia squared it to Dompig, however her effort was saved by Bačić. Good play in the 28th minute after Nadim recovers the ball and brings it to Renzotti, whose shot doesn't trouble the keeper. Another right footed attempt, this time from Rubio in the 32nd minute which is blocked by the defence, while the home side had an attempt on goal through Muth, however, it didn't trouble the Rossonera number one. The second half was a bit livelier: the Rossonere got into action straight away as Nadim tried to set up Dompig, but her effort was saved by Bačić. In the 52nd minute, Giordano missed the target after Jelčić hit the post. Cernoia put in a cross for Nadim in the 65th minute, but the header went wide. The teams strengthened thanks to the substitutions made by each manager, in the 72nd minute a chance fell to the sub Adugbe, but the shot was saved thanks to a great bit of defending from Koivisto, then controlled by Giuliani. When everything seemed as if it had ended, with 0-0 as the scoreline, the Rossonere goal came in the second minute of stoppage time: Mascarello's corner was met by Piga and a quick reaction from Dompig allowed for the finish. The game ended a few minutes after the goal, we won!
