Noah Okafor has not yet been given permission by AC Milan to leave and go do his medical with RB Leipzig, according to a report.
It was reported by Fabrizio Romano among others a few hours ago that Milan and Leipzig have agreed a loan deal for Okafor, with an option to buy that is set at €25-28m. The player was expected to do his medical and sign the contract today.
According to what is being reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Leipzig are waiting for Okafor but the Swiss has not yet received Milan’s approval to leave. The deal was ‘finalised’ last night, Thursday 9 December, but the forward remains in Italy.
Despite a flight being booked for last night, Okafor has not yet left for Germany and is still in Milan. The deal with Leipzig, however, is not at risk. It will take ‘a few more days’ to reach a conclusion, though no more specifics are given.
Having arrived in Italy in the summer of 2023 from Red Bull Salzburg, Okafor remains very close to leaving Italy a year and a half later and moving to another club in the Red Bull universe. He has one goal this season for the Rossoneri, the equaliser in the first game of the season versus Torino.
