The details of a concerning exchange between Barcelona star Gavi and a member of the club’s medical staff have on Sunday evening been revealed.

Gavi, for his part, of course set alarm bells sounding in Catalunya’s capital earlier today.

This came after the midfielder was involved in a nasty clash of heads during Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés.

En route to a hard-fought 1-0 victory for Hansi Flick’s troops, Gavi went to ground within the opening quarter of an hour, after a coming together with Tomás Conechny.

From here, the youngster was tended to by Barca’s medical staff, before ultimately being hooked from the action for Fermín López.

And, late this evening, an insight into precisely why has been provided.

As captured by the Movistar camera team in attendance at Montjuïc, Gavi, at one point, was asked by a Blaugrana doctor:

“What day is it today?”

And the 20-year-old went on to respond:

“I have no f**king idea.”
