Thursday – Obrigado, Bragantino

Today, we had to say goodbye – and that wasn't easy! Over the last week, we've become even closer to our friends from the Red Bull family, and we're now like one team unit on the pitch. We laughed, sweated, learnt and celebrated together. These moments will live long in the memory.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to our friends at Red Bull Bragantino! Your support, your energy and our time together were just incredible. 🇧🇷🔴⚪️

In the afternoon, RBL headed to the airport, before arriving back on German soil at 09:00 CEST on Friday morning.

A jam-packed and eventful trip has come to an end – with many wonderful memories to keep with us. 🙏

Wednesday – Perfect way to end a fantastic trip

Our penultimate day in South America centred around the friendly against Santos FC. Our boys prepared for the game at Red Bull Bragantino's modern training ground.

Two goals from Xavi (15', 70') and a strike from Lois Openda (68') meant we ended a memorable tour with a deserved victory. This successful end to the trip left us with a taste for even more!

Tuesday – 500 fans attend training

Tuesday was another busy day for our boys. A number of players travelled to Bragança in the morning to take part in a social project. Together with Red Bull Bragantino, we are renovating a public football pitch, where children and young people from the local community, schools and social programmes will soon be able to play football safely and freely.

Some of the Red Bull Bragantino players were present at the training centre despite their day off. They took the chance to play Altinha together with our guys, enjoying the spirit of the Red Bull family.

Aside from that, there was a capoeira training put on, as well as a relaxed beach footvolley session. Red Bull athlete Natalia Guitler also got involved to show her skills.

The day was rounded off with a training session in front of 500 fans in Atibaia. It was a great opportunity for our players to show the Brazilian fans what they are capable of. Following the session, the Red Bulls signed plenty of autographs and happily took selfies with the locals. Benjamin Šeško wasn't able to train due to a small knee strain.

Monday – Arrival in Atibaia

A group of our players, including several youngsters from our academy, visited a German speaking Humboldt school in São Paulo on Monday morning, receiving the warmest of welcomes. The players signed autographs and answered the students' questions.👉 Read more about our school visitKosta Nedeljkovic and Benjamin Sesko went surfing instead of visiting the school, receiving some tips from none other than Red Bull athlete Pedro Scooby.

After the morning's activities, everyone had to pack their bags as the group left São Paulo. A two-hour bus ride north then saw RBL arrive in Atibaia. Our friends from Red Bull Bragantino then welcomed us with open arms. The lads didn't have long to relax, with the first training session in Brazil taking place soon after.

Following a quick shower after training, the lads had to get ready for the next event. We went to watch Red Bull Bragantino host Juventude live. Jhon Jhon's stunning free-kick earned Bragantino a 1-0 win.

Sunday – Altinha session and art with NAKA

Sunday was also jam-packed for our boys! In the morning, Nici Seiwald and Xaver Schlager visited the studio of Brazilian artist NAKA. There they learned first-hand how he designed the special printing on the Red Bulls' jersey for their upcoming friendly vs. Santos. Read the whole story here.

In the afternoon, the sporting activities continued as some of our boys met up in a park in São Paulo to play Altinha - meaning ‘high altitude’ locally - which is traditionally primarily played on the beach.

At the end of the day, the team showcased their moves at the samba workshop that had been scheduled in. The lads had a lot of fun as their hips got shaking!

Saturday – football museum visit

The lads experienced their first highlight of the trip at the famous football museum in São Paulo. Here, football is not only celebrated for its sporting entertainment but also as a cultural phenomenon, whose influence extends beyond the field of play. Find out here why Lukas Klostermann still gets goosebumps when looking back on his previous visit to the country.

A couple of players also visited Furia, one of the most well-known e-sports organisations in Brazil. FURIA have particularly gained recognition for their Counter Strike team, which has made a name for itself on the international stage.

In the evening, the lads dressed up and celebrated the first evening together with dinner at a grand old museum.

Friday – departure and final training

Ahead of the Red Bulls’ departure for Brazil on Friday, one final training session at Cottaweg had been pencilled in.

The flight left for South America bang on 17:00 CEST from Leipzig/Halle Airport. The boys either slept, played Yahtzee or chatted with the other players to pass the 12 hours in the air, eventually landing at midnight local time in São Paulo. Tired from the long journey, the squad headed straight to their hotel, hoping to quickly adjust to the jet lag and five-hour time difference.

The team’s Brazilian adventure was underway and it was sure to be an exciting time full of experiences.
