Also contained in the social media post were images of Jones and Saffie on holiday together in Paris, as well as a positive pregnancy test kit.
The video montage ends with a beautiful image of a pink babygrow and a soft bunny toy, all set to a caption which says ‘To our baby girl’.
Liverpool players old and new were quick to congratulate the happy couple with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Bobby Clark, Stefan Bajcetic, Owen Beck, Tyler Morton, Rhian Brewster, Rhys Williams, Neco Williams and Daniel Sturridge all passing along their good wishes in the comments.
Saffie is a regular poster on social media under the handle saffiekhan_ and boasts around 62,000 followers. She recently celebrated her 22nd birthday.
Jones meanwhile has grown in stature this season, making 35 appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The homegrown midfielder has scored five goals and made three assists for the Reds, bouncing back from a debilitating injury suffered against Brentford in February.
That injury prevented Jones from being called up to the England squad for the March internationals against Brazil and Belgium and could well have cost him a dream place at Euro 2024.
Nonetheless, Jones will be hoping to impress under new Liverpool coach Arne Slot next season and fight his way back into the international reckoning.
He was also controversially sent off against Tottenham back in September, when matchday official Simon Hooper opted to exchange a yellow card for a straight red following a VAR review for a tackle on Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma.
