These three EFL clubs should pounce over a move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as Crystal Palace appear keen to sell the Blades loanee.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi could be a player on the move this summer after an underwhelming loan spell with Sheffield United.
The Crystal Palace wideman linked up with Chris Wilder’s Blades at the start of the season and showed promise in the first half of the campaign by netting four times and producing two assists.
However, just three goals would follow after the end of November 2024, with the 22-year-old failing to play a part in their play-off final heartbreak at the hands of Sunderland and only playing 18 minutes across the two legs against Bristol City in the semi-finals.
Such a poor run of form and game-time in Yorkshire will see Rak-Sakyi return to FA Cup winners Crystal Palace, but his chances of regular minutes appear slim as Oliver Glasner’s men seek to bolster the squad with further depth and quality to help aid their Europa League campaign.
A report from NewsShopper has revealed the Eagles will listen to offers for Rak-Sakyi’s services, and many EFL teams are sure to be interested after he earned his first taste of second tier life.
From this news, Football League World lists three Championship clubs that should go all out this summer to secure Rak-Sakyi on a permanent basis.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi could be an appealing option to another newly-relegated club, with the 22-year-old at his best in sides that dominate possession and allow him to get on the front-foot.
This should certainly be the case at Southampton as they chase an immediate Premier League return under the recently appointed Will Still, who is sure to be finalising his transfer targets as the Saints plan to attack the summer transfer window.
While it is unknown what formation Still will adapt to at Southampton, the former Reims coach did mix between using 3-4-1-2 or 4-2-3-1 systems, and Rak-Sakyi could blossom in the latter setup by becoming a dangerous and valued attacking outlet on the right flank.
Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed via his Patreon page that the Saints are eyeing up a move for the 22-year-old after their failed bid last summer, with the St Mary’s Stadium turning into a realistic destination now they have returned to the Championship.
For a team that likes to exploit opposition defences from out wide, West Brom will be in desperate need of further attacking talent on the flanks, particularly if they part ways with exciting talent Tom Fellows.
Fellows registered a sensational 14 assists for the Baggies this season as they missed out on the play-offs, with top-flight outfit Everton holding a long-standing interest in the Albion academy graduate.
With an exit looking more possible as the summer window develops, Rak-Sakyi could be the ideal replacement to be a regular first-team asset at The Hawthorns, using his directness and pace to supply regular service to the likes of Daryl Dike and Josh Maja if they can retain their fitness.
With Rak-Sakyi in the West Brom XI, it has the potential to be such a potent Championship forward force and could be an ideal place to help the winger realise his Premier League ambitions.
Portman Road is set to be a place that waves goodbye to a number of senior figures after Ipswich Town’s immediate relegation back to the second tier.
One player who could leave in particular is right-winger Omari Hutchinson, who reportedly has a £35 million release clause following the Tractor Boys’ return to the Championship.
With summer interest in Hutchinson expected to ramp up, Rak-Sakyi could be a player Ipswich put their faith and trust into, with his close ball control and direct running similar qualities to what Hutchinson holds.
A move for the Crystal Palace wideman could make a Hutchinson exit feel like a distant memory, particularly if he played a significant role in their return to the big time.
