Cristiano Ronaldo: Saudi Pro League Among World's Top 5 Leagues
Cristiano Ronaldo's once again sparked headlines with his passionate defense of the Saudi Pro league claiming it now ranks among the world’s top 5 competition.
Speaking to Al Nassr's media team, 40 year old ballon d'or winner emphasized the league's steady growth:
"Of course we're still improving but I believe the Saudi league now belongs in the top 5 globally"
The Portuguese legend pointed to the increasing level of competition and quality:
"Only those who haven't played here say otherwise. This league's highly competitive. I'm %100 convinced we’re getting better year after year"
Back in 2023 Ronaldo predicted that the SPL could surpass Europe's elite leagues.
"Football's evolving. Top players are coming here. I said this would be the best league in the world and step by step, it’s happening"
Despite scoring 99 goals in 111 match for Al Nassr, Ronaldo's won just one title so far: the 2023 Arab Club Champions cup.
Now signed until age 42, the 5 time Ballon d’or winner's aiming to reach 1000 career goals while still dreaming of leading Portugal to glory at the 2026 World cup.
Ronaldo’s words send bold message to doubters: the SPL isn’t retirement destination it’s growing football force.
