Unless you ignore matters off the pitch, you’ll be fully aware of Liverpool’s current ownership. Called Fenway Sports Group (FSG), familiar faces like John W. Henry have led what has proved to be a successful period since taking over the club in 2010. With an American link firmly in place, could we see the club’s connection to the States grow stronger by snapping up some of the country’s brightest prospects?

Well, it’s certainly not out of the question. We aren’t talking about the likes of Zak Whitbread and Brad Friedel here either, two players who essentially failed to make it at the club, but more of a wide range of notable talents that hail from America. Despite being from a nation where many fans watch Major League Baseball and bet on a different type of football, American soccer players are now beginning to make a name for themselves after looking at the latest NFL lines. Some players are already established in Europe, while others are youngsters with a seemingly bright future.

After all, while more experienced professionals, such as Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic, might be obtainable shortly, emerging prospects are probably more realistic targets given Liverpool’s continued desire to develop some of the finest young players around. With American fans worldwide, could we see some bright prospects join the Liverpool family soon?

Benjamin Cremaschi

Aged 20 and learning alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami, Benjamin Cremaschi has a high ceiling. The midfielder still has a lot to learn, but there’s no reason why that couldn’t be at Liverpool’s esteemed academy in the future.

A player major clubs closely watch, Benjamin Cremaschi, is a young American, and FSG will surely be aware of.

Ricardo Pepi

As one of the hottest properties in Dutch football, Ricardo Pepi is being monitored by many clubs. The PSV striker probably isn’t ready for a move to Liverpool just yet, though, especially after the Reds managed to get Hugo Ekitike in through the door at Anfield.

Still, Pepi could become a viable option in the future.

Cavan Sullivan

Even though Manchester City have beaten Liverpool to the signature of Cavan Sullivan, he’s a player who could eventually end up at Anfield should he fail to make the breakthrough in Manchester.

The immensely talented 15-year-old is one of the country’s top prospects, becoming the youngest player to appear in the MLS since Freddy Adu. Aside from the finished article, Cavan Sullivan is one to keep tabs on in the coming years.

Cole Campbell

Currently, in the books of Borussia Dortmund, 19-year-old Cole Campbell is another American prospect with natural ability. Born in Texas, the winger is quick and skilful, although he’s yet to showcase this for the first team. Still, it could materialise, and should he impress, Liverpool could easily come calling.

Rokas Pukstas

A player who has played a lot of minutes for Croatian side Hadjuk Split, despite being in the early stages of his career, Rokas Pukstas is a midfielder many behemoths are reportedly mulling over. The former Sporting Kansas City academy star is turning it on regularly, meaning he could eventually earn a dream move to the Premier League should he continue to shine.

Special mention must include Kevin Paredes, Cade Cowell, and Diego Luna.
