The Corinthians Under-17 team will have its squad divided into two fronts in the coming weeks. This is because part of the players and the coaching staff departed this Saturday, the 30th, for Spain, where the young Timão will compete in the Córdoba Tournament from September 1st to 11th. The delegation was composed of 18 youth players, whose names were revealed by Rádio Craque Neto.
As the international competition takes place concurrently with tournaments still happening in the country, the other part of the squad and staff will remain in Brazil, dedicated to competing in both the Brazilian Championship and the São Paulo State Championship for the Under-17 category. Two matches will be played with this secondary group: one against Palmeiras in the national tournament on the 2nd, and a game against Ferroviária in the state championship on the 6th.

The Córdoba Tournament is also known as the Trofeo Al-Andalus or the Youth Club World Cup. Timão is in Group A of the tournament, along with Racing-ARG, Sevilla-ESP, and Pogba Academy-FRA. In Group B, Benfica-POR, River Plate-ESP, Barcelona-ESP, and Como-ITA are present. Finally, in Group C, Palmeiras, Real Madrid-ESP, Córdoba-ESP, and Real Betis-ESP were drawn.
The 18 players selected for the competition are: goalkeepers Gustavo Milani and Pietro; defenders Iago Machado, Pedro Neto, and Cauã Ribeiro; full-backs Kaio Vinícius, Vinicius Gomes, and Victor Calderan; midfielders Pedro Thomas, Lucca Vaz, Caio Lisboa, Lucas Caramicco, and Gui Amorim; and forwards Cristian, Nícollas, Wilker Carvalho, Dante, Kayque Dallaqua, and João Poncidônio. The youth director Carlos Auricchio, known as “Nenê do Posto,” accompanies the delegation.
On the official Corinthians website, the technical coordinator of Corinthians' youth division, Robson Zimerman, spoke about the tour to Europe: “It is a valuable opportunity for the boys to experience contact with teams from other parts of the world, other football schools. Moreover, it allows the boys who stay in Brazil to play more, helping in the development of as many athletes in the category as possible,” he stated.
