Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has named his starting line-up for today’s late Premier League kick-off against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils suffered their first defeat under Amorim against Arsenal in midweek. They had a good opening half but were outclassed after the break with two set-piece goals.
United have the chance to return to winning ways this evening and the manager has made four changes from the recent visit to the Emirates Stadium.
Noussair Mazraoui and Harry Maguire make way for Leny Yoro and Lisandro Martinez in defence.
Maguire’s exclusion was on the cards. Mazraoui has been given a breather, having started every game under Amorim, who tends to prefer regular rotation.
Tyrell Malacia has likewise dropped to the bench. Diogo Dalot will slot in the left wing-back position. Amad Diallo has been reinstated into the XI at right wing-back.
The other change comes in midfield. Kobbie Mainoo has returned to the starting line-up after serving a one-game domestic suspension during the recent loss to Arsenal.
Mason Mount is the fourth player who drops to the bench from the Arsenal defeat.
United are seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City, who are currently losing to Crystal Palace. They have a brilliant chance to reduce the deficit with a win against Forest.
It won’t be a straightforward contest, and the Red Devils need a quick start off the blocks with a goal to ease any early nerves.
