As much comes after Griezmann set alarm bells ringing in Spain’s capital 24 hours ago.

En route to Atlético’s eventual 1-0 Champions League Last-16 first leg defeat at the hands of Inter Milan, the France international was forced into a premature departure from the action.

Inside the closing quarter of an hour at San Siro, Griezmann pulled up, with what appeared to be an ankle problem.

The 32-year-old, in turn, was quickly hauled off, with Ángel Correa introduced in his place.

Speaking post-match, Diego Simeone went on to reveal his hope that the issue would not force his star attacker into any sort of notable spell on the sidelines.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then a stretch out of action may be precisely what’s in store for Griezmann.

After the injury suffered by the former Barcelona man was confirmed to be ‘ankle sprain’, Relevo have provided an insight into just how long Griezmann is likely to miss.

The Spanish outlet point towards the Frenchman as being certain to sit out Atlético’s weekend La Liga meeting with Almería, as well as, crucially, the 2nd leg of the club’s Copa del Rey semi-final tie with Athletic Club.

He is unlikely to feature in either of the ensuing fixtures against Real Betis or Cádiz, either, with the medical team at the Wanda Metropolitano having pencilled in a comeback date of March 13th for Griezmann, when Simeone and co. welcome Inter to Madrid hopeful of turning things around to book their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
