Cesc Fabregas is in demand, but Como will put up a fight to keep him on their bench for the foreseeable future, as president Mirwan Suwarso told Cronache di Spogliatoio (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“He said to us that he has already been contacted by some teams. His football philosophy is protected here. He’s proving that the team can grow thanks to his ideas. If he keeps it up, the ownership will fulfil his requests, and he’ll be able to achieve his ambitions here in the next few years.”

Suwarso added that Como are determined not to lose Nico Paz.

“We have been talking with Real Madrid for a long while to keep him. He’s a great player for us. The same goes for Assane Diao. The governors wish to retain them despite the offers. Dele Alli is coming back from a major injury. If he returned to be even 60 percent of the player he once was, it’d be a triumph for everybody.”

Suwarso highlighted the growth of Como since the takeover by Indonesian billionaires Robert and Michael Hartono.

“We began in Serie D with 5 employees. We have over 200 now. What happens on the pitch stems from the structure behind it. We surely wish to improve our position on the table next season, but we can’t relay precise objectives for now. In the 80s, thanks to Mino Favini, there was a great youth academy here. We wish to create something similar.”

Como currently sit in 13th position and basically secured their Serie A permanence thanks to their last 2 wins since they have a 12-point cushion over the relegation zone.
