“It was a tough game, and it was always going to be hard coming to a place like this,” said Collins.
“The performance was average for us. I think we could have stepped up again, could have created a bit more, scored more and done better for the goal too. It wasn’t our greatest performance, but it wasn’t our worst.”
On Everton’s goal, Collins said: “That’s what they are good at, as a team they are all very good at that.
“We knew that we had to defend the box and for most of the game we did it. That one time, we didn’t get it away far enough from our box and they punished us.”

Brentford went into the game knowing that Premier League survival was secured after Luton were beaten by Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the day, and Collins was happy with that following a season disrupted by injuries.
“We’ve had a lot of setbacks, a lot of injuries, myself included," he said. "To have a bit of a stable squad is better and hopefully we can push on into the final games.
“The fans were class; they were singing all afternoon. I’m gutted we couldn’t get three points for them today but there are three to go and we’ll have a right crack at it.”
