The president of Paris Saint-Germain is defending the accusations levelled at him by the owner of Olympique Lyonnais.

John Textor has some choice words for Nasser Al-Khelaifi in a fiery interview with RMC Sport on Monday. The American recounted a July league meeting when TV rights were being discussed. According to Textor, the PSG president was leading these debates when Textor says he shouldn’t have even been present. He went on to say that the head of the LFP, Vincent Labrune, was barely saying anything while talks were happening.

The Lyon owner also alleged that Al-Khelaifi would “bark” or “bully” anyone with an alternate idea. He adds that he didn’t know that Ligue 1 was “incredibly dominated” by PSG’s president.

In response to Textor, a PSG spokesperson said: “It is a pity that class and elegance cannot be bought, for it would have prevented Mr Textor from making a fool of himself.”

They go on to say, “Let him return to Earth, and to France too, to better understand this Ligue 1 that we love so much.”

PSG, via their spokesperson, suggested that the 59-year-old businessman devote his time and attention to Les Gones and its management.

Lyon are facing potential relegation due to its financial issues and were given a transfer ban for the January window. The club tried to appeal the ruling, but the DNCG kept the sanctions in place last week.

Meanwhile, an LFP spokesperson did issue a response Textor’s comments via Le Parisien, expressing their “surprise” at what was said about Labrune, adding that Textor and Lebrune had a cordial exchange earlier in the week.
