Here is a look at how Manchester City’s players performed overnight.

England 2 Finland 0.

A brace from Harry Kane in his 100th appearance for England sealed the Three Lions win. In truth, England dominated the game, but it took until the second half for England to put Finland away.

City’s English contingent all played well for Lee Carley’s side. Rico Lewis was superb at left-back and showed that he may be the solution for England going forward in the position. John Stones put in an assured performance in defence, which is a good sign for Manchester City, with domestic football set to return this weekend. Jack Grealish was also a threat throughout the game and showed that he may be a vital contributor for City starting this weekend.

Netherlands 2 Germany 2.

The Netherlands and Germany played oy an entertaining 2-all draw overnight. It was a pulsating affair between two nations who were determined to attack from kick-off. Tiani Reijnders and Denzel Dumfries scored for the Dutch. Goals from Joshua Kimmich and Denis Undav were enough to see the game finish 2-all.

The big story of the game from a Manchester City point of view was the muscle injury suffered by Nathan Ake. Ake was stretchered off just before halftime with what appeared to be a serious injury. Manchester City will be hoping for the best in regards to Ake’s fitness but the injury did look serious. It is a cruel blow for Ake who was slowly building into the new season.
