Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has given some insight into his plans for the future, even as he continues to be linked with other clubs.

United signed Eriksen in the summer of 2022 and his first season at the club was a relatively successful one as he formed a formidable midfield trio with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.

However, last term, an injury suffered by the player hampered his progress at Old Trafford. He also saw his playing time significantly reduced due to the incredible emergence of Kobbie Mainoo.

Eriksen made 28 appearances across all competitions for United. In that time, he registered one goal and three assists.

The 32-year-old was a standout player for Denmark in Euro 2024 despite the fact they didn’t win a game. He still shone and proved he still has plenty left in the tank.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Ajax are interested in securing Eriksen’s services on a loan deal. United’s preference would be to permanently part ways with him as they seek to raise funds this summer.

It has also been previously mentioned that the Dane is on the radar of Galatasaray.

He is currently out in the US with his teammates for United’s pre-season tour. Eriksen spoke to Sky Sports and revealed his plans.

He said that he’s happy at United but refused to definitively rule out a transfer.

“I am really happy. My family is settled in Manchester and I’m loving my time at Man Utd, but as a football player, you do want to play as much as possible.”

“However, it is also about convincing the manager to play you, so in terms of that, I’ll try and do my thing and we’ll see where we are at.”

“I still want to get out on the pitch. Obviously, I’m staying the same person if I’m playing or not playing.”

Eriksen added, “I will be the same person, trying to help others if I can and focusing on playing. But I want to still be the footballer, not just the social guy.”

United return to action this weekend when they take on Arsenal at SoFi Stadium in a pre-season clash.
