Cristian Chivu will largely keep the tactical system of Simone Inzaghi intact at Inter Milan when he becomes the new coach.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They also report that the athletic preparations will change with the departure of Fabio Ripert.

Cristian Chivu is set to become Inter coach in the next couple days.

The Nerazzurri have already agreed a two-year contract with the former defender. He will leave Parma and take over from Simone Inzaghi as the Nerazzurri’s new coach.

The question now is what sort of tactical system Chivu will employ at Inter.

According to Tuttosport, Chivu is largely going to keep the system used by Simone Inzaghi intact at Inter.

Like the former Inter coach, Cristian Chivu has generally used a back-three formation.

Moreover, at Parma, the Romanian also used two strikers leading the line. Therefore, his 3-5-2 shape was very similar indeed to that of Inzaghi at Inter.

Of course, over time, Chivu will start to bring his own ideas to the team.

But for the Club World Cup in particular, Chivu will not make any radical changes. The 44-year-old will keep the style of play that the team already know how to play.
