With a good soccer display based on ball control and subduing Cibao close to their goal, Guadalajara booked their ticket to the Round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup after defeating the Caribbean side 3-0 in the second leg of the First Round.
In this way, Chivas left the Dominicans on the road with a 4-1 aggregate score and will face América in the next round of the Concachampions.
The match flowed positively for the Rebaño Sagrado, who monopolized the ball from the very first moment and controlled the loss of the ball well, thus preventing Caribbean counterattacks. The team coached by Óscar García generated multiple scoring chances, including a disallowed goal for 'Chicharito', a shot against the post by 'Oso' González and a header by Saúl Zamora, who made his official debut with the Rebaño Sagrado.
The goals
1-0: Guadalajara struck first at 22', thanks to a good team play that ended with a tremendous service from Cade Cowell to Fernando Beltrán, who sent a right-footed shot into the back of the Dominican goal.2-0: Javier Hernández extended the lead and made the task more difficult for the Dominicans, as at 55' he appeared alone in the box and after a brilliant breakaway by Yael Padilla, he only put his left foot to send it into the net.3-0: Armando González showed his eye for goal at 78', as after a cross from Luis Rey, he went all out and beat the Cibao goalkeeper with his shot.
