Mark Brus, in his exclusive report for CaughtOffside, has stated that Chelsea want to sign Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming summer transfer window and are first in the running to sign the player. Adeyemi is a talented player but has not been consistent during his spell at Dortmund.
Mykhailo Mudryk might not stay at Chelsea for a long time after failing the dope test. Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke, and Pedro Neto have also not performed at their best consistently for the Blues. Therefore, the club from Stamford Bridge want to sign a new attacker in the upcoming summer transfer window and are the favourites to land the Dortmund star.
Borussia Dortmund’s electrifying winger has caught Chelsea’s eye with his exceptional qualities. His blistering pace—being the Bundesliga’s fastest—makes him a nightmare for defenders, as seen in his solo strike against Chelsea in the 2023 Champions League. Adeyemi’s versatility shines through his ability to play across the front line, combining dribbling flair with clinical finishing. His work rate off the ball and pressing tenacity further enhance his appeal. For Enzo Maresca’s attacking vision, Adeyemi’s dynamic skill set is a perfect fit.

Adeyemi has scored 2 goals in 14 matches so far in the Bundesliga 2024/2025 season. Overall, his goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.24. Moreover, Adeyemi’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 5 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.59 per 90 minutes. His non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.32.
Looking into his passing aspect of the game, Adeyemi passes the ball roughly 24.74 times during a game with a pass completion rate of 79.46%. He also plays 1.47 key passes each game which leads to significant scoring chances. Overall, Adeyemi’s xA (expected assists) output is 0.33 per 90 minutes. This stat puts him above 94 percent of the players in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund value him at €45 million, but Chelsea can definitely negotiate to get him at a better price. At 23 years old, he could be a sensational signing for the Blues and can serve the club for a long time. Although his stats this season are not satisfactory, his quality and potential can be a welcome blessing for the Stamford Bridge club.
