Brentford B were involved in a nine goal thriller at Kingsmeadow, finishing on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline.

A brace from Ashley Hay had the away side ahead at the half-time break but a dominant Chelsea in the second-half meant that we they take all the points in this London derby.

Julian Eyestone had to make a good stop early on to deny Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

The boys did settle into a rhythm early on and the long throw-ins were causing issues for the home side as Alex Matos on two occasions.

The good start was rewarded as the young Bees took the lead through Ashley Hay. He pounced on shot that was rebounded back into a dangerous area by goalkeeper Max Merrick.

The home side responded almost instantly though as a Harvey Vale cross found an unmarked Deivid Washington who tucked it away.

A second was almost scored by the away side as the Bees took a quick free kick which allowed Hay to header goal wards but Merrick this time pushed the effort away safely.

The young Blues were dominant in possession but the Bees were having the clearer sights of goal.

Tyrique George fired in a cross which ricocheted off of Morgan and was heading goalwards but fortunately Eyestone was in a good position to collect.

MacFarlane’s team regained the lead as Hay grabbed his second of the game rising highest to steer to the far post an Ethan Brierley corner.

Chelsea started the quicker of the two sides in the second period and they levelled the scores for a second time and this time it was George who grabbed the goal, meeting Vale’s cross with his shin, diverting it past Eyestone.

A second came soon after and it was George who got his second volleying cleanly into the net after a period of sustained pressure.

The chances were coming thick and fast for the home side as the tide turned in Chelsea’s favour.

A fourth was scored by the home side as Headman could only divert a drilled cross from Ishe Samuels-Smith into his side’s goal.

Isaac Holland gave the boys a fighting chance of getting something out of the game as he produced a moment of magic to beat two opponents and steer an effort into the bottom corner.

Chelsea regained their two-goal advantage scoring a fifth as Ito Ampah drilled a cross across the face of goal and for the second time in the game Headman could not do much more as he diverted into the net.

George grabbed his hat-trick, firing past Eyestone to make it six.

Brentford return to Professional Development League action on Tuesday 17 September as they take on Hull City away from home.
