Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly joined Juventus in the pursuit of Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The French defender was a key figure under Mauricio Pochettino last season but is on the fringes of the squad since the arrival of new manager Enzo Maresca.
The former AS Monaco star has only accumulated 184 minutes of Premier League action this season. Even when he started, he has been forced to play in an unnatural position at right-back.
Despite being under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029, Disasi’s limited game time has fuelled speculation about a potential move.
Juventus have expressed interest in signing the France international but face significant financial constraints, making a deal challenging under their current circumstances.
The Serie A giants would likely need to offload players or secure creative financing to fund the acquisition.
Bayer Leverkusen are better positioned to make a move. They are braced for the possible departure of their stalwart centre-back Jonathan Tah, who has attracted interest from top European clubs.
Leverkusen have reportedly identified Disasi as a prime candidate to bolster their defensive ranks if Tah leaves.
Discussions have already taken place between the German club and Disasi’s representatives to explore the feasibility of a transfer.
