Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea have reached an agreement on personal terms with Alejandro Garnacho. Negotiations with Manchester United are expected to take place soon although if the Argentine is to leave Old Trafford, the London club will have to meet their £50m valuation, as reported by the Telegraph.
Chelsea’s pursuit of Garnacho also comes as they look to advance a move for RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons. The Dutchman – who is expected to follow Benjamin Sesko out of the exit door – wants to move to the Premier League after Leipzig missed out on European football completely.
When it comes to Garnacho, Romano adds that Chelsea is the only club he wants to join.
With Chelsea already signing Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and now pursuing moves for Garnacho and Simons, it’s a significant outlay for three players that all occupy the same position. But there’s still expected to be some key exits at Stamford Bridge with Carney Chukwuemeka expected to depart.
