Chelsea have been in the news for all the wrong reasons this week, almost as if some of the media outlets were sat there waiting for it.
Everything has been great at Chelsea again this season under Enzo Maresca, and unfortunately many rival fans and even some in the media, much prefer it when the club are in a demise and there is a toxic feeling around it like there has been over the last few seasons.
But this season is different, there has been nothing but a positive vibe, and Chelsea have been winning matches and performing well again.
Some Chelsea fans will be feeling like it was just all going far too well and the negativity was on it’s way. Unfortunately it came in the shape of Mykhailo Mudryk being suspended for failing a drugs test. We have to wait and see the conclusion to this, but the player is fighting it and there’s also some claims he might have been set up.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was banned recently for the same thing, and it seems that Mudryk is turning to the same firm that helped get his ban reduced.
The Telegraph reported last night that Mudryk has hired the law firm responsible for helping Paul Pogba to have his doping ban reduced from four years to 18 months after the Chelsea winger was provisionally suspended for failing a drugs test.
There will be a long road now for Mudryk whatever happens, and the likelihood is that this could serious damage his Chelsea career, and even his football career. However, he is young, so there is certainly still a way back for him and big chances to save both of the above. Chelsea seem to be supporting him too which is what he will need.
