Chelsea have enquired about Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as they weigh up a shock move according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

The January window is now in full swing and it seems like things are starting to gather pace in terms of potential incomings.

The Blues were expected to be quiet this month, but that has seemingly changed, with Trevoh Chalobah recalled from Crystal Palace and the club looking to add in the attacking areas.

Chelsea enquire about Garnacho

Chelsea appear to have sorted their issues at centre back for this month with the return of Chalobah, but they are still searching for reinforcements at the other end of the pitch.

The Blues need an alternative for Nicolas Jackson and have been strongly linked with a move for Liam Delap, although a January deal for the Ipswich striker is still seen as unlikely.

Chelsea are seemingly also looking at wide players given they are a body down with Mykhailo Mudryk currently suspended, and they’ve been linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel.

However, in news which will come as a shock Ornstein has reported the Blues have enquired about a possible move for Garnacho.

Ornstein adds the Argentine is one of multiple players under consideration in the wides areas, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens, although conversations are only at an early stage.

Garnacho came through the ranks at United and is currently under contract at Old Trafford until 2028, although the Red Devils are thought to be open to a sale to help ease any profit and sustainability issues.
