Chelsea have reportedly made a big transfer decision this week according to an exclusive report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X.

Romano has been putting his latest updates out late on Saturday evening, and there was one big bit of Chelsea news that he dropped.

EXCLUSIVE!! Chelsea have put TWO centre backs up for sale and one for loan in order to sign one more new PREMIER LEAGUE centre back!

A lot has been said and reported about the future of midfielder Andrey Santos and what will be happening with him this summer. Many thought and claimed he would be staying in the squad of Enzo Maresca and would not be going out on loan.

However, I personally doubted that very much because I knew how much he just wants to play football and also, how key his development is right now. If he stays at Chelsea this season then he would be behind many regular starters and his game time would be very much limited to perhaps some domestic cups and maybe the Conference League. For me, he simply has to go on loan, and that is what it looks like he will be doing now.

Santos back to Strasbourg

The young Brazilian spent last season on loan with Strasbourg and now, according to Romano, he will be heading back out there again for this season.

As above, Romano says: ‘Andrey Santos will return to Strasbourg on loan after going on US tour with Chelsea, deal done. BVB and more clubs keen on signing him but Andrey spoke to Liam Rosenior about style of play implemented at Chelsea and Strasbourg. Andrey, big part of Chelsea future plans.’

So he’s really emphasising that Santos is a big part of Chelsea’s future plans but really, the boy wants to play naturally, so where is he going to get that game time at Chelsea unless one of Romeo Lavia, Enzo Fernandez, or Moises Caicedo leaves the club or their form drops consistently?
