Kylian Mbappe extended his wonderful record in the UEFA Champions League this week, as the French forward scored twice in Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-1 win at Barcelona.

Mbappe’s double decided the tie and booked PSG a place in the semi-finals, with the Parisians in pursuit of a maiden European crown.

The 25-year-old is the leading scorer in the Champions League this season with eight goals and has now entered the all-time top 10 goalscorers in the competition’s history.

Mbappe first made his mark on the Champions League during AS Monaco’s run to the last four during the 2016/17 campaign, scoring six times in nine game during a breakthrough season in Leonardo Jardim’s exciting side.

A transfer to Paris Saint-Germain has since seen Mbappe elevate himself to a status as one of world football’s finest talents, having finished as Ligue 1’s leading scorer in five consecutive campaigns on route to breaking PSG’s goal record.

His 253 goals in all competitions have seen Mbappe eclipse Edinson Cavani as the record scorer for Les Parisiens, while he has joined another PSG club great in the Champions League’s top 10 goalscorers.

Mbappe has scored 48 goals in 71 appearances in the competition, matching the haul of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and former AC Milan and Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko – in significantly less games.

The Frenchman has some way to go to catch those at the top of the list, however, and we’ve listed the leading scorers in European Cup/Champions League history.
