Borussia Dortmund climbed up four places to seventh in the UEFA Champions League after seeing off the challenge of Austrian side Sturm Graz on matchday four.

The league phase of the UEFA Champions League is half-way done, and the table featuring all 36 teams is shaping up nicely. Borussia Dortmund find themselves in seventh place in the standings, three points behind leaders Liverpool.

After being beaten by Real Madrid on matchday three, Borussia Dortmund responded well and registered a 1-0 win over Sturm Graz on Tuesday. The hard-fought win lifted the Black and Yellows from 11th to seventh in the standings, with the top eight teams guaranteed a place in the round of 16 of the revamped Champions League.

UEFA Champions League standings: Liverpool top, Borussia Dortmund seventh

Borussia Dortmund have won three of their opening four matches in the UEFA Champions League this season, while Liverpool are the only team left with a perfect record in the competition. Sporting CP, AS Monaco, Stade Brest, Inter Milan, and Atalanta are the other remaining unbeaten teams.

Next up for Nuri Sahin's side in the UEFA Champions League is a an away game against Dinamo Zagreb on November 27. They will then take on the in-form FC Barcelona at home.

Among the other teams from the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen are 13th with seven points, while Bayern Munich are 17th with six points. VfB Stuttgart have four points after four matches, enough only for 27th place. RB Leipzig, meanwhile, have lost all four of their games so far in the Champions League.
