Barcelona have been putting out the message that there will be no incomings in the January transfer window, nor outgoings. Yet that will not stop others from trying to convince them to do so.
Amid talks ongoing for creative midfielder Pablo Torre, Girona are set to return to battle for Eric Garcia. According to Relevo, Girona will try to convince Barcelona to part with the 23-year-old in January – Michel Sanchez is the only manager that Garcia would leave the Blaugrana. Their main obstacle is whether Barcelona consider him their alternative to Marc Casado in midfield, as he will move to the bottom of the pecking order in defence with Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen returning from injury to compete with Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez.
Garcia spent last season on loan at Girona, and stood out as one of their best players. This season Garcia has played 13 times for 541 minutes, but has only one start in a defeat to Leganes since the beginning of October. Of those 13 appearances, 7 have been in midfield.
